What a slow slow day. Nothing to do at work. Ok, wait let me rephrase - nothing URGENT that I WANT to do.
I've been sleeping late recently doing God knows what. Compounded by a burning/itching sensation on the area around my mouth because of a millionaire's face wash; a protruding stomach still too full from the pasta, pizza, cookie, salad, homemade veggies, chocolates, chips, ice cream etc that i've been eating these past few weeks; and a soon to be 12-degree temp room because si 'Buntis' in our area feels very hot... so hello headache! I'm in one of my moods again when I don't care what I do, even if I look wa-poise or angas or bitchy just so I could get rid of my discomfort, and nothing can ellicit a smile from me - not even a smiley face on this. Shit, even my hair, which is unusually smooth and sabay-sa-ayos (or is that sabay-sa-tikwas?) irritates me. Leave my Goddamn shoulders and forehead alone! Times like this, I want to shave my head bald.
Anyway, I can barely form a coherent entry and muster any enthusiasm to do it so I'll just run down what I think, as I think it, the way I think it… I think.
- I saw my tongue-tying, foot-tripping, english-ubos-ing dance instructor (or coreographer or whatever) crush - Andre, as I finally learned what his name was - at the gym a couple of days ago. I think I mentioned before, I don't care if he's gay or not, he's just soooo hot. Before, when I first saw him, I even made fun of the fact that the only time I was able to attend one class he led, he seldom spoke and would just show the class the steps. He wasn't wearing a microphone that time, so he was barely audible to us 20+ people in the room, plus for some reason he would always put his index finger over his mouth, motioning for us to keep quiet, when the only thing we could really hear was the boom box thumping. Anyway, I saw him for a third time ever this week, and wawawiwa!! he's soooo cono pala! Aysows, hindi ko pa sya nakakausap e nauubusan na ako ng salita. My friends gave me some tips - to just say 'uh-uh' 'yeah', 'oh?', 'yah yah yah' and my personal favorite - 'no no no no no no no'. Ok that made me smile. =)
- Speaking of crushes, (gay or not) I've got a huge one on 'mister' Jay Manuel and Nigel Barker of ANTM, and an overwhelmingly strong attraction - or maybe fascination is the word - for Ellen Degeneres. Ah ewan.
- speaking of Nigel Barker - I saw 'the noted fashion photographer mister'... - in all his yummy part brit/portuguese/irish/sri lankan hot flesh!!! while my friend Emkay and I were having coffee at Seattles Best Greenbelt last Tuesday. (Yes, him and Andre both in one day just gave me an adrenaline overdose!) Anyway, NB was invited by the Ayalas to give some tips on fashion and photography (duh) and wala lang, it was pathetic. Cos I'd be peering from the glass windows of Seattles Best and I'd tingle and shake everytime I'd see his skinhead atop the heads and shoulders of Makati's alta de sociedad. Di ko man lang napicture-an sa kabagalan ko kumilos.
ummm.... momentarily lost my thoughts there. oh yeah.
- I'm so sad the BQs didn't win in the Amazing Race All-Stars Edition. I've been rooting for them since Season 10, and was literally at the edge of my seat during the final Season 11 episode, praying as if I'm in the race myself for them to win. They SO deserved it, at least among most of the other teams, and especially among the top 3 teams. They played a very fair game, and had a very good attitude towards everything and everyone they encountered. Even in interviews, they would not say anything bad about another team, or if they will, they'd say it nicely. They are sexy and good-looking but are not being a-holes about it, and they were especially not ditzy. Compared to Eric and Danielle who would probably break up if they didn't win and to Charla and Mirna, who are the most manipulative, superficial persons I've seen in the race, who are always using Charla's situation to get around. Anyway, E&D's win was purely out of chance; the BQs are far more competitive and won more legs than they did. Couldn't help but feel a pang in my chest when I saw one of the girls (the taller one - of course, avid fan that I am, after one and a half seasons of supporting the BQs, I still couldn't tell which is Kandice and which is Dustin) cry openly while still sporting the 'gracious loser' face when they came in second. Hell I'd feel just as bad if that happened to me. Too bad...
- I think coming in second might just be the most painful thing to happen to anyone in a competition, especially in competitions where there are no second prizes. Second place says that you're better than most everyone, but not just good enough to be the first. And all the effort and hardwork you put in to be so near your goal but to not get right on it - just sucks. Here is where you think - that could have been me. At least when you're third, you know that you had far less chances to get to first (than if you were second) so you won't feel as bad when the time comes for sour graping. Because you're not that good yet to be second, don't go dreaming to be the first. =) all right, don't listen to me, this is the bitter melon talking.
ummm... still searching for nonsense stuff to talk about. so there.
- finished my annual evaluation interview with my resource manager. I've been stressing over that for about two weeks now, and up until the day before my interview, i looked about as nervous as a person about to poop. all in all it was good, just a little more confidence and assertiveness should do the trick. I was asked the dreaded question - what do you think are your weaknesses? and thank God I was able to answer! (unlike when I had my initial interview here, when I couldn't think of any weakness! how yabang I am!). Hay here's to more work, more exposure to the ah-tee-tee-ways *kulog at kidlat!* and hopefully a raise and bonus in FY08! (ok, i'm a material girl, I'm only human, born to make mistakes - huh?) Ironically, after all that good feedback, all my initiative and enthusiasm suddenly deserted me. well, i really hope to get my wind back again next week.
- look forward to the coming weekend that I'll spend with my family. Tagaytay on Saturday and Dusit on Sunday. Default mode for Monday is no vote, unless... well unless makonsensiya ako about wasting my vote. Cold nasty truth is - I don't care. Will read up though on the candidates, in case something is sparked in me. We'll see.
hmmm. 30 minutes to finish line =D I like blogging. This is a very effective and efficient way of wasting my time in the office. =) |
