Of course, I'm being sarcastic here. Kawawa naman ang mga taga-Malabon... But at least you can see another demonstration of Filipino ingenuity and self-sufficiency. I won't be surprised if maging business pa ito at pagkakitaan, like at the Katipunan jeepney station dati na mejo baha yung malapit sa sidewalk. Naglagay yung jeepney association ng wooden planks para makatawid yung mga commuters. With a minimal fee of course. Piso ata kada tawid, may libre pang holding hands with the manongs and teenage boys na talaga namang makukulit.
Tsk tsk tsk... poverty.
It's good to know that poverty still inspires a certain degree of creativity, diligence and ambition in people. But how far will that take them without the proper support from the right institutions? |
