| 101 Wishes |
For those unfamiliar with this concept, its like this: 101 Wishes symbolizes a person's unlimited desires, hence the notion of going beyond 100. There are no restrictions whatsoever in what you can write - it can be as simple as passing an exam on Tuesday or as far-fetched as Adam Levine falling in love with me. Your wishes should be written spontaneously and without censorship. Then, once you have completed the list, you start choosing the most important and doable ones and proceed to set goals and deadlines of when you want these items to be done. (Well whaddaya know, it's not only a dreamlist, it’s also a motivational, self-development, time management tool!)
I first encountered 101 Wishes in a team-building activity we had in my previous company. That time, we were given, I think, 15-20 minutes to write down our wishes. But because of the time limit, I wasn't able to finish the exercise; the clock stopped somewhere around Item 55-60. I realized that it doesn't matter how fast you can write, you'll soon find out the you'll run out of things to write once you get past Item 40. And so, I didn't time myself this around. Total time it took me to finish the whole thing: 50 minutes. I literally had to crawl my way through starting from Item 66.
One factor that kept me from completing this exercise is that I wanted to continue from my first 55-something 101 Wishes sheet, which I have lost and found and then lost again over the years and within the clutter of my cabinet. Well I haven't tried to find it again recently, but having done a new list, I know that most, if not all of the things I wanted before are still intact.
What I like about this exercise is that you are given the opportunity to explore, vocalize and concretize (by writing) what you really, really, really want to accomplish in life. It keeps you on track and focused; it helps you prioritize; it gives you direction. You probably won't be able to tick everything off your list, at least not in this lifetime, but you know, you still get an A for the effort. =P
Anyway, here goes my list! (In no particular order, except the order in which these ideas shot out of my head). You should try it too!! =D
