| Post PBB Season 2 Thoughts |
I've been meaning to write an entry about the happenings in and the 'characters' of PBB Season 2, but since it already ended last Saturday, its probably anti-climactic to be rambling about it now. But ramble about it, I still will. Anyway, I only have a comment about Wendy, the most controversial PBB housemate since… Bianca and Zanjoe. I felt so strongly against her during the last three weeks of the show, but I have mellowed since last week, when I learned that she is the friend of one my close friends - Nena. Yes, out of respect for my friend, and out of the pureness of my soul. Hehe She told me: "Galit ka kay Wendy dahil lang sa nakita mo sa PBB?" Lumabas bigla yung twin kong kunsensya. And nahiya ako sa aking kunsensya. Senyales na, I know I did something wrong. Oo nga naman, I am judging her based on what she has been doing and acting like on TV. According to my friend, ganon talaga si Wendy - not bitchy, just really outspoken and has a strong personality. Coupled with her recent interview in The Buzz last Sunday, when she admitted that she did go overboard inside the PBB house, I realized that she does know how to admit mistakes and apologize after all. Maybe she is just really confused right now. Maybe she isn't such a bad person after all. Maybe she went through something bad before that's why she handles pressure that way. The point is: she has a reason. And for whatever reason that is, she shouldn't be judged based on only a few days' outbursts. I'm not saying that she should go scotfree after what she did. Of course, there are consequences for what she did, one of which were the boos she received during the Big Night, not to mention, the wrath of a few thousand Filipinos.
Yes, its commendable that Wendy wasn’t afraid to show her 'true colors' on PBB. But character is not only built solely on honesty or courage, and these two qualities certainly are not enough to "win the crowd" as Proximo would say in The Gladiator. That's why we have additional qualities like - tact, sensitivity, empathy, diplomacy.
Anyway, nawala na yung mga gusto kong sabihin dati. Bakit ko ba pinakikialaman ang buhay niya??? Basta lesson learned. |
