| Executive Summary |
It's been a long time since I last posted here and I missed it a lot. So many things have happened to me during these last four weeks that I had wanted to write about, and I've started so many half-drafts, that up to this day remain unfinished. I couldn't continue it naman kasi parang wala na yung impact (charing!). So I thought I'll just start from scratch; ang aking mga madamdaming introductory paragraph, marereduce sa bulletpoints.
Davao - Looking back, I still find the whole experience surreal. I saw a lot, heard a lot; Smelled and tasted strange but not unfamiliar stuff; Felt more warmth and affection than I ever had any given day. I jokingly tell my brother and sister that I felt like Harry Potter, as when I enter the room, I'd feel people's eyes on me. First a questioning look as they are told I am Nina's eldest, then a look of momentary recognition as they remember seeing me as a child, followed by the tightest hug you could ever imagine. It was fun at the same time. I was, by proximity, more exposed to my father's side of the family and so I've always felt shy or awkard when meeting my mom's clan. Now I don't have to feel that! They are such a happy, humurous, and expressive bunch, you can't help but enjoy their company! I can't wait to go back there next year with my brother and sister.
Elba - On the day I left for Davao, I dropped by the Anson's Glorietta exhibit and finally sealed the deal with my long awaited oven (sige na, aangkinin ko na sya kahit 1/5 lang naman ang contribution ko dun), which will pave the way to my success in the cookie industry! =P I tested it the following weekend, and have been using it ever since. Its definitely made my work faster, pero I still need a Protégé! =P
Retreat - We had a regional marketers' retreat where we met with our 'kuligs' (translation: colleagues) from around the region. It was a worthwhile experience because FINALLY, I got a bit grounded as to what my role in this team was. It also helped to meet these people face to face so its easier and more comfortable working with them. I took one of them - Wendy - around Market Market, Serendra, High Street, Glorietta and Greenbelt, because she was kind enough to do the same for me when I was visiting our Singapore office. Mamatay matay na ang paa and balakang ko, but I didn't have the heart to tell her, when she herself was wearing deadly heels. Such a great girl!
Pajama Party - Na walang tulugan. One of my high school best friends, na itago na lang natin sa pangalang Ubas (kasi her second name is literally GRAPE =D), moved back for good to Manila from Ilo-Ilo where she spent the last eight years. She'd been here for two months already before we finally found a common time to get-together with a third best friend. They were supposed to sleep over at my house, but due to time contsraints, si Ubas lang ang nakapunta sa house. Just between us - I have this secret anxiety with spending more than five hours straight with one person only - I don't know but I feel that somehow it would get awkward or tiring at some point. Anyway, it turned out great! We had a lot of fun and no sleep! hehe. Buti na lang she also bakes, so she helped me with my cookie orders and in between, we went to Padi's point for dinner and a drink (my first Zombie) at talagang isang glass pa lang naduduling na ako!
Godmama - the day after (hindi pa man na-absorb ng skin ko ang Zombie) I attended my good friend's son's Dedication. It was my first time to attend a Dedication, (which is like sort of like a Christening, but different because it is only required for the first born son - Nenz, please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.) The presiding priest (?)/brother was quite entertaining although I think at times, his jokes may offend someone. I'm so in awe of my friend (uuuy, nagbublush! =P), who has really matured a lot (sige na nga, dati ka pa namang mature. or baka ako ang immature kaya ganyan ang tingin ko sa yo! hehe =D) I made my first brownie-cake ever for Dime, my... Godbaby hihi. Unfortunately, pumangit ata nung pinilit ko pang lagyan ng miniature nips to give color to the 'cake' hehe, pero di ba, its the thought that counts? =) Katabi ko pa pala ang cutest guy in the history of Marikina haha, kaya kainis nung dumating yung isa kong officemate at tinabihan ako, MH ka Ms Al!
High School Reunion - The following weekend, I slept over at Ubas' naman, finally able to 'Binyag' her new condo unit, which overlooked Pasay/Paranaque and had an amazing view of MOA and Star City's weekend-ly fireworks display. Unfortunately, I was 10 minutes too late so I missed the fireworks, wah! Anyway, another sa-uulitin-worthy experience, as we met seven other high school classmates for dinner at Superbowl and a cake at Cheesecake, etc. Super sulit at Cheesecake if you go as a group, kasi their whole cakes cost between 500-850 bucks, pero sobrang laki, as opposed to getting individual slices that cost between 110-150, maganda nga, maliit naman. Anyway, basta enjoy!
Fitness Pers - Balik-gym na naman ako, after freezing my account for the last three months. Sayang lang for September, e I was only able to go to the gym once. In fairness, I attended the greatest Body Jam class ever. (napansin niyo bang puros hyperbole ang aking statements? haha my gosh... adhd na naman ako, i think its the two mugs of tea I drank thats making me hyper.) Pano, Andre, my crush was there, plus, I was able to execute each step nang minimal paltos!
Throughout this last month, I've been both busy and happy. I'm realizing a lot of things, changing a lot of paradigms, and I'd have to say that I'm getting really good at it. =) I think its going to be a good year-end. |
